Will your water softener protect my "Tankless Water Heater" from hard water scale?

Yes, the water softeners below actually remove the hard water minerals calcium and magnesium from the water. Most if not all hot water heater manufacturers have warranty clauses that state that their product is not covered if damage is caused by hardness. "Problems resulting from scale formation are not covered by the warranty" It is worded differently from one manufacturer to the next, but all of them, do not cover their products against bad water. This also includes the popular and expensive "Tankless Water Heaters" - A tankless water heater is also effected by hard water just not quite as quickly as with a standard hot water heater tank. In a tankless water heater, it is only heating water when the water is moving through the heat exchanger coil. Over time, hard water scale can buildup and result in the overheating of the heat exchanger.

 

How does your water softener compare to "no salt" water softeners?

"No salt water softeners" are not true water softeners as they do not remove any hard water minerals from the water. Will those who prefer to drink soft water be deprived of any minerals deemed necessary for good health?

The minerals necessary towards your daily diet come from your food.

Neither hard nor softened water provide any significant quantity of minerals. For example, a glass of milk contains 4 times the amount of calcium, as does a glass of water!

 

How much sodium is in softened water?

A normal daily intake of sodium for an adult is approx. 3,000 mg.

Many natural and manufactured foods and drinks contribute to this daily intake. As a guide, you would need to drink 75 glasses of softened water to achieve your daily intake! I do not want to add sodium to my whole house water softener, Is there an alternative to sodium pellets?

Yes, our water softeners can use potassium-based pellets, not sodium, to soften water. So, your water is not only soft, but it's sodium free. Potassium soften water vs sodium is also better for plants and gardens.

 

Why is Reverse Osmosis better than filtered water ?

Carbon filters are good for filtering chlorine and organic compounds from the water. However, carbon filters cannot filter total dissolved solids (TDS). For the highest quality drinking water Reverse Osmosis is unsurpassed in its advanced filtration and provides the highest quality of drinking water available in a home system, comparable and mostly better and certainly fresher than bottled water. A Reverse Osmosis system does all that the best carbon filter system does, but much more, by the very nature of its advanced design it will remove up to 95 - 99% of salts and metal ions including sodium that Activated Carbon cannot do. No More Water Bottles ! This system hides away under your sink and puts healthy great-tasting water at your fingertips. It meets all your water quality needs at a fraction of the cost of bottled water. Compare that to the price of bottled water, without having to carry home those heavy bottles of water.

The undercounter water filter unit is easy to install (usually takes little more than an hour). The system comes complete with a space-saving, 4-gallon storage tank and all the necessary fittings, including a Certified Lead free long-reach faucet.

The reverse osmosis unit measures 17"L x 17"W x 18"H; 4 gallon storage tank is 15" high and 11" in diameter; total system weighs approx. 27 lbs.

Stage 1 Sediment Pre-Filter: A pre-filter sediment cartridge is utilized, which because of the fine micron rating, is effective in removing dirt and sand particles.
Stage 2 Initial Carbon Pre-Filter: The high quality carbon pre-filter provides enhanced reduction of taste, odor, and color.
Stage 3 Secondary Carbon Pre-Filter: This secondary carbon pre-filter provides effective filtration and does not release carbon fines. It provides for improved membrane performance.
Stage 4 High Capacity Reverse Osmosis Membrane: A thin film composite (TFC) high quality membrane that processes up to 25 gallons per day.
Stage 5 Final Carbon Post-Filter: This filter provides final polishing of processed water leaving the storage tank.
