RainDance Water Systems - Feed Pump

Solution Pump can be used for chlorine injection OR pH neutralizer injection.

The RDWS-Feed Pump system consists of a 45 gallon solution tank and a small injection pump that is mounted on above of the solution tank with a pickup tube submerged into the mineral solution. The pump is wired to the switch side of the well pump switch so that it is only activated when the well pump is activated. When there is a demand for water in the household and the pressure in the pneumatic storage tank drops, the well pump and the injection pump are activated.

The injection pump feeds the proper amount of solution into the flowing stream of water with the use of a tee injector fitting that must be installed before the pneumatic storage tank. Solution mixes include hydrogen peroxide/water or chlorine/water mix to oxidize iron and sulfur bacteria and soda ash/water mix to neutralize low pH. You can then regulate the amount of solution that is fed with the use of a feed control valve located on the pump. Take several readings until you reach your target level. The required maintenance on the system includes adding the solution mixture to the solution tank in proper measure approximately every 6 months (this figure depends upon the amount of water usage in the household).

Add a Retention Contact Tank

Certain contaminants require a specific contact time with the chlorine for effective oxidation so a retention tank is needed for optimum contact time during chemical treatment. The lightweight, durable, and easy-to-install retention tank features corrosion-proof construction, threadless rotating connections, and blowdown valve for easy removal of built-up sludge in the bottom of the tank. Dimensions: 24"D x 72"H - 120 Gallon Capacity - 1.25" Connections

Retention Contact Tank
Price: $1,095.00

Note: A Post Filtration System is required after the RDWS Chlorine Feed Pump to filter the oxidized contaminants in your pressure tank or retention tank. Pair your RDWS Chlorine Feed Pump with our renown Iron Max Filter System for optimum filtration performance & crystal clear water throughout your home or business!

Why Chlorine? Liquid chlorine, when added to any water source, will work to oxidize and kill everything it can, including iron, manganese, sulfur, tannins, and some bacteria. After oxidizing and killing what it can there will only be a residual amount of chlorine left, telling us that the chlorine has done it's job. Municipal water treatment plants commonly use chlorine as their disinfectant of choice which is why most city-treated water sources can taste or smell like chlorine from the tap. In well water applications, chlorine is our choice of oxidant to effectively treat a large list of contaminants with one convenient system. The key to proper chlorine oxidation is contact time, where the chemical can make contact with the oxidizable matter long enough to react with and neutralize it. Once these contaminants are neutralized, they are easily removed by water filtration equipment. RainDance uses chlorine injection as our most effective solution to heavy iron bacteria, sulfur reducing bacteria & odors, off-tastes and colors in well water sources. Use a post carbon filter after the main filtration system to remove residual chlorine so you'll never know chlorine was there!

Do You Have Iron Bacteria?
Does your well water leave red stains in the sinks and bathtubs? have unpleasant swampy tastes or oily smells? do you notice red, slimy growths in the toilet tank? If so, your well or water system may have iron bacteria.

Iron bacteria are small living organisms that naturally occur in soil, surface and groundwater. These nuisance bacteria combine iron or manganese with oxygen to form deposits of "rust," bacterial cells, and slimy materials that stick to well casings, pumps, pipes, plumbing fixtures, irrigation system and water appliances often damaging them.

Iron bacteria can be orange, brown, or red in color. Sometimes it floats in the water like orange algae and sometimes you may notice an orange slime that coats the inside the toilet tank that can be wiped off with a finger. You may also notice an oily sheen on the water surface. Iron bacteria often produce unpleasant tastes and odors commonly reported as: "swampy," "oily," "cucumber," "sewage," "rotten vegetation," or "musty." The taste or odor may be more noticeable if the water is stagnant for some time. Iron bacteria does not produce hydrogen sulfide, the "rotten egg" smell, but can create an environment where sulfur bacteria can grow and produce hydrogen sulfide.

The Iron Max Plus Series is our highest performance well water treatment system able to tackle some of well water's most difficult problems. This combination of systems can treat up to 50ppm ferrous iron (clear water iron), ferric iron (red/orange when drawn), iron bacteria, up to 15ppm manganese, up to 10ppm hydrogen sulfide gas odors, sulfur reducing bacteria, tannins, up to 10ppm and sediment down to 3-5 microns.

Please contact us for advice on how we can help solve your iron bacteria problem before it causes substantial damage to your plumbing, water appliances and irrigation equipment.

You can choose to buy a iron bacteria water filtration system "off the rack" and take your chances or you can let us recommend a system based upon your specific needs. If you already have a water report please email Support@RainDanceWaterSystems.com ATTN: Iron Bacteria Recommendation. Once we have reviewed your water report we will contact you with the best water treatment solution.
