The RDWS-Feed Pump system consists of a 45 gallon solution tank which is filled with a solution of water and potassium carbonate for pH correction or chlorine for iron and sulfur bacteria. The system also includes a small injection pump that is mounted on top of the solution tank with a pickup tube submerged into the mineral solution. The pump is wired to the switch side of the well pump switch so that it is only activated when the well pump is activated. When there is a demand for water in the household and the pressure in the pneumatic storage tank drops, the well pump and the injection pump are activated.
The injection pump feeds the proper amount of mineral solution into the flowing stream of water with the use of a tee injector fitting that must be installed before the pneumatic storage tank. The addition of the mineral solution will increase the pH level of the water almost instantaneously. You can then regulate the amount of mineral solution that is fed with the use of a feed control valve located on the pump. Take several pH readings until you reach your target pH level. The required maintenance on the system includes adding the liquid chlorine or potassium carbonate powder to the solution tank in proper measure approximately every 6 months (this figure depends upon the amount of water usage in the household). The powder will dissolve readily in the water. If Chlorine is required, the addition of our WH-CARB whole house carbon filtration system is highly recommended for chlorine taste and odor filtration before water enters house.
